Jared Nye, Executive Director

Jared is a graduate of Weber State University with a Masters degree in Health Administration but credits residents and families for making him a better person. He learns so much from them every day. Jared has worked for Legacy Retirement Communities since 2006 in many capacities including a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Technician, Administrative Assistant, Assistant Administrator and as the Executive Director at sister-community Legacy House of Ogden. He is excited about this position at Legacy Village of Provo. His philosophy is that one becomes successful when work turns from being a chore and becomes a passion. He loves the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Sarah Carr, Marketing Director

Sarah has lived in Utah for the past 5 years, but is originally from beautiful Huntington Beach, California. Sarah is new to the Legacy family, but has worked in the healthcare industry since 2017. She enjoys getting to know everyone and has a passion for creating meaningful connections with co-workers, residents, and resident families. When she’s not working, Sarah enjoys hiking, playing sports, listening to live music, watching movies, going out to dinner and spending time with her family and friends.

Analia Alvarado, Assistant Administrator

Analia has worked in the healthcare industry since 2011, and has been working with Legacy since 2015. Analia was born in Uruguay, but grew up in Provo. She loves soccer and enjoys sharing the sport with her six children. In addition to coaching and playing soccer, Analia follows international soccer and is a big Real Salt Lake fan. Analia enjoys mystery and historical based literature, working with the elderly and learning their personal stories.

Graham Ferguson, Administrative Assistant

Graham, a Pittsburgh native, is a student at Utah Valley University where he is working on his B.S. in Exercise Science. Upon graduating, he plans on receiving his Masters in Healthcare Administration. He moved to Utah in 2018, and married in 2019. After moving to the Provo area, Graham started work at Legacy in Dining Services, where he remained until his current position. He enjoys running, baseball, hiking, and generally anything that takes him outdoors. While new to his present position, Graham has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the residents over the last few years.

Shawna Schutz RN, Resident Care Coordinator

Shawna was born and raised in Utah County and feels that it is the best place to live and raise a family. She graduated from UVU in 1995 and has been a Registered Nurse for over 19 years. She has worked in the senior-care industry for over 14 years and has a passion for working with the elderly. Shawna loves building relationships with both residents and her co-workers. She looks forward to coming to work each day. In her free time, Shawna enjoys cooking (and eating), travel, and most of all spending time with her family.

Shannon Winn-Horne, Dining Services Director

Shannon was born in Colorado and raised in Utah. She knew she wanted to be a chef at ten years old and would spend her days baking. When attending UVU’s Culinary Program she soon learned the baking world was not for her and fell in love with hot foods. Shannon began working in the food service industry at fifteen and since than has worked as a line cook. Shannon spends her free time with her husband and their two dogs. She enjoys being outdoors, gardening, hiking, and taking care of her 47 house plants.

Avery Nielsen, Recreation Director

Avery was born in Oregon and spent most of her childhood there before moving to Utah as a teenager. She is a graduate from BYU with her degree in Exercise Science. She has absolutely loved working in the recreation department for the past few years. Avery has a passion for keeping residents happy, healthy, and appreciated. She believes the most rewarding part of her position is building special connections with residents and making them feel loved. Avery spends her free time playing sports with her husband, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.

Ricardo Bencosme, Maintenance Director

Ricardo has been a member of the Legacy family since 2004. Ricardo worked for two of our sister communities prior to joining the team at Legacy Village of Provo. He always finds time to associate with residents and family members and strives to make a personal connection with each resident and family member. Ricardo was one of six recipients to receive the 2012 Corporate - Personal Touch Award and was recently featured in a television commercial for Legacy communities. When he isn't at work, he enjoys riding horses and spending time with his family. Ricardo is a Board Member of the Utah Chapter of the Ponies of America Club where he is involved heavily with the youth organization.
